InSight+ Issue 48 / 8 December 2025

As another year draws to a close, InSight+ wishes to thank all of our readers and contributors for another year of sharing your excellent medical and health stories.

We have covered a vast array of subjects in our issues this year. Professor Leanne Rowe, our regular contributor, is very popular with you, our audience. The most popular stories were ‘The best time to have a baby during a medical career’ and ‘Four Corners fallout: speak up about medical workplace abuse or be complicit

Some more stories that were popular with you, dear readers, was on overworked junior doctors ‘Running on fumes for years: junior doctors say system is unsafe, not just underfunded’ and the psychiatrists in NSW fight for fair wages ‘NSW doctors strike over wages and conditions’

AI no doubt will become even bigger part of doctors lives next year. Dr Elizabeth Deveny wrote a popular piece on the pros and cons of AI scribes.

And, in case you missed it, Dr Maria Li submitted a very interesting series about doctors using social media, and how to avoid getting yourself into trouble online.

We’d like to thank our regular contributors Professor Rowe, Professor Steve Robson and Dr Li. We really appreciate your time and effort and your articles always pique the interest of our readers. I’d also like to thank our MJA Podcast guests throughout the year.

We also really appreciated the time all of our authors have taken during their busy schedules to write for us. Every article is important to us and each story is unique.

If you haven’t submitted to InSight+ yet, please consider giving us the opportunity to publish your opinion or story for your peers to read on topics you have an interest in.

Lastly, we’d like to say a big thank you to our journalists Becca Whitehead and Nance Haxton, for their high quality writing and journalistic verve. Please approach us with any story ideas that we can assign to them to investigate.

We’d also like to acknowledge the valuable roles our readers and contributors have across the many facets of health care, and what a difference you make to every Australian’s life with your passion and dedication.

We wish you all safe, happy holidays and a prosperous new year.
